It’s been over 6 months since our last major expedition to the Rockies, and it’s fair to say we’re both itching to get out and about again. This time we’ve got something a bit crazy planned. Rather than taking a week off and hopping on a plane to somewhere mountainous we’ve taken it a step further. Matt’s taking a sabbatical from work for a few months, and Krista’s not renewing her contract at work so we’ve got plenty of time to play with this time. And rather than hopping on a plane, we’re getting a motorhome and going on a major road trip.
Although we’re not intending to have a strict itinerary (we want to make it up as we go along wherever possible) we do need to have some idea for which way to head. To kick off our route planning here’s a map with a few ideas for where we’d like to visit. Undoubtedly this will change a whole lot as time goes on and we won’t visit a lot of these places, but you’ve gotta start somewhere, right?

Today is Family Day in Canada, and we had nothing much planned so we decided to knock a few more kilometres off the TTC Expedition that we started last summer. Today we hiked from Lawrence to Finch which finished off the Yonge-University-Spadina line, then got the subway back to Sheppard station and hiked across the Sheppard line to Don Mills station. In total we visited 8 stations, covered 12.5km and were on our feet for about 3 hours. Good fun, and great exercise. The highlight was Krista summiting Mt Bayview. Check the photos for evidence!
